Kent Fine Art 1986 | Kunstausstellung | Ausstellungskatalog | Exhibition Catalogue
The inception of Reality Remade was largely inspired by Richard Hamilton's 1956 collage, "Just What Is It That Makes Today's Homes So Different, So Appealing?". We live in a world that, defined by technological change, progress and contradiction, compels us to constantly examine ourselves in relation to our environment. Hamilton's ironic statement has gone beyond a frozen moment in time; he transcends it.
Taking Hamilton's example as a benchmark, the exhibition was extended both forward and backward in time. Beginning with several works by Duchamp,.the show surveys the continuing presence of Dada as well as the investigation of life through art-making over the last seventy years.
