Les objets de la collection conservée à Riggisberg présentés dans ce volume ont été choisis en tenant compte d'oeuvres et d'aspects qui ne figurent pas déjà dans le fasci-cule de mai 1968 de la revue «DU». Les textiles seront traités dans un second volume faisant suite à celui-ci. Le commentaire des planches illustrées ne cherche qu'à stimuler l'intérêt pour une étude approfondie des objets. Les auteurs remercient de leurs infor-mations sur des questions particulières Mesdames Mechthild Flury-Lemberg, Marie-Madeleine Gauthier, Yvonne Hackenbroch, Barbara Obrist et Wendela Roberts ainsi que Messieurs Cesare Brandi, David Carritt, Niklaus Dürr, Victor H. FOREWORD
This volume contains a selection of the Riggisberg collection, and considers particu-larly those works and aspects which had not already been illustrated in the widely circulated May issue of the magazine DU of 1968. Textiles and fabrics will be the sub-ject of a following second volume. The commentaries to the illustrations are merely intended to stimulate a more profound study of the themes presented, and for the same reason the captions refer only to literature either directly related w, or inducing comparisons with, the subjects in question.
